Common Questions

Before You Reach Out

The questions we hear most often from prospective students. Don't see yours? Send us a message above.

How long does the AZ MELT program take?

The MELT curriculum is 116.5 hours of training, but the calendar time depends on your schedule. Full-time students typically complete the program in 4 to 6 weeks. Part-time and weekend schedules are available and run longer.

Do I need any prior driving experience?

You need a valid Ontario G-class licence and the ability to pass a vision test, but you don't need any commercial vehicle experience. We start every MELT student from the fundamentals.

What documents do I need to bring to enroll?

A valid G licence, proof of an Ontario driver's abstract, and a completed MTO medical examination report. We can walk you through getting any of these — and the medical form is available on our Downloads page.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Yes. We offer monthly payment plans, work with Amazon Career Choice and Better Jobs Ontario, and our courses are tax deductible (we issue T2202 slips). Ask us for the breakdown when you call.

Can I tour the school before I enroll?

Absolutely. Walk in during business hours or call ahead to set a time. We'll show you the classroom, the trucks, and answer any questions in person.

What happens if I don't pass the road test?

We offer dedicated re-road test training that focuses on whatever the examiner flagged. Most students pass on their second attempt with the targeted prep.
